\ Rosa Vandergrift Clingenpeel, age 77, of Roanoke, died Thursday, July 5, 1990 in a local hospital. She was a member of Oakland Baptist Church and was pre-deceased by one sister, Thelma Oliver, and one brother, Garland Vandergrift. She is survived by her husband, Omer F. Clingenpeel, Roanoke; two daughters, Judith Ann Clingenpeel, Roanoke; Mary Ellen Ayers and husband Kenneth, St. Louis, Mo.; four grandchildren, Monica Yates and husband Bobby, Colorado Springs, Colo.; Carla Wingo, Roanoke; Jason Ayers and Melissa Ayers, St. Louis, Mo.; four sisters, Edna Keen; Nellie Brammer; and Lillian Peters, all of Roanoke; Charlotte Fowler, Fort Worth, Texas; two brothers, Robert M. Vandergrift and Jennings Vandergrift, both of Roanoke; and one sister-in-law, Catherine Vandergrift, Roanoke. Funeral services will be conducted from Oakey's North Chapel on Monday, July 9, 1990 at 11:00 a.m. with the Rev. Kelly Dampeer officiating. Burial will be in Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens. Friends may call at Oakey's North Chapel where the family will receive friends from 2:00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. Sunday.
