OBIT-SPRADLIN, G.

Mr. Glenn Darnell Spradlin, age 54, of Salem, went to be with the Lord at Lewis-Gale Hospital on July 7, 1990, after a courageous battle with cancer, bullous emphysema, and neurofibro matosis. He was an employee at General Electric for 28 years and a member of Shenandoah Baptist Church. He was a very devoted father and husband. He is survived by his wife of 31 1/2 happy years, Wanda Gearheart Spradlin; daughter, Melissa E. Spradlin of the home; special friend, Andrew K. Puckett; mother-in-law, Eugenia Gearheart; sisters, Dorothy Wainwright and Peggy White; brother, Richard Spradlin. Funeral services will be conducted at 3:00 p.m. Monday at Shenandoah Baptist Church with the Rev. Albin Crutchfield and the Rev. Glenn Strickland officiating. Interment will be in Sherwood Memorial Park. Memorials may be made to the Shenandoah Baptist Church Legal Defense Fund. Arrangements are being handled by the John M. Oakey and Son Funeral Home, Salem.
