BULLS MASTER BUCS 5-1

The Durham Bulls continued their mastery over Salem, beating the Buccaneers for the ninth time in 10 games with a 5-1 victory Saturday night in Carolina League baseball.

Durham hasn't allowed an earned run in the last 28 innings.

The Bulls got three runs in the fourth on four hits. Theron Todd's sacrifice fly scored a run and singles by Ryan Klesko and Edwin Alicea drove in the other two.

Klesko doubled in another run in the sixth with two outs.

The Bulls (8-8) added two runs in the seventh when Chris Estep's wild throw that hit the screen allowed Alicea and Popeye Cole, who both had singled, to score.

Salem (6-10) got its run in the ninth when Mandy Romero reached on error and Darwin Pennye and Estep walked to load bases. Ben Shelton hit a sacrifice fly to score Romero.

Salem got four hits, all singles.

Salem's Steve Buckholz (6-6, 5.06 ERA) faces Pedro Borbon (1-1, 6.28) tonight.
