MERGER ANOTHER CITY ANNEXATION

MANY CITIZENS of Roanoke are there not by choice, but as the result of being annexed from Roanoke County.

The proposed consolidation is actually another annexation of Roanoke County by the city. This is not desirable from a county citizen's viewpoint.

Many people have moved from the city to the county because of our good school system. We are satisfied with the quality of our schools, emergency services, and our overall quality of life.

There is no advantage to a county citizen in this new attempt to annex us. Our utilities taxes and other taxes will be higher. I call on all members of the Roanoke County Board of Supervisors to oppose consoldiation. Remember the citizens who put you in office.
