SOME CAN'T CHOOSE ON ANNEXATION

WE WOULD like to know why the residents of the eastern part of Roanoke County will not be allowed to vote whether we want to become a part of the town of Vinton if the county is consolidated with Roanoke in November.

We pay our taxes the same as the residents of Mason Cove, Bennett Springs and Catawba Valley who, we understand, will be allowed to vote whether they want to be taken into Salem. Do you see any fairness in this?

If the officials we now have representing us do not "go to bat" for us, maybe it's time we elect new officials.
