\ WAYNESBORO - Jerry Wilson Furrow, age 49, a resident of 100 North Side Drive, died early Sunday morning at the Community Hospital of Waynesboro. The family formerly resided in the Vinton and Mt. Pleasant areas. He was born in Franklin County, Va., October 18, 1940, the son of the late Roy E. Furrow and Alberta Meador Furrow of Roanoke. He was a graduate of William Byrd High School, Vinton, class of 1959. He was also a graduate of V.P.I., class of 1963, with a degree in mechanical engineering. He was an employee of the DuPont Company for 27 years and was a member and deacon of the Westwood Baptist Church in Waynesboro. In addition to his mother, he is survived by his wife, Joyce Webber Furrow, Waynesboro; two sons, Edward G. Furrow, Fayetteville, N.C.; Keith W. Furrow, Blacksburg, Va.; one sister, Cindy F. Dopp, Roanoke; two brothers, Roger W. Furrow, High Point, N.C.; Randy M. Furrow, Kernersville, N.C.; two grandchildren; one niece and one nephew. A funeral service will be held at Westwood Baptist Church in Waynesboro Tuesday at 10:00 a.m. A graveside service will be held in the Mountain View Cemetery, Vinton, at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday conducted by the Rev. Jack Mallory. The family requests that memorial contributions be sent to the American Heart Association, P.O. Box 726, Waynesboro, Va. The family will receive friends at the McDow Funeral Home, Waynesboro, Monday from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m.
