1990 MISS VIRGINIA CONTESTANTS

Miss Amherst County, Shannon Noelle DePuy

A Lynchburg resident, DePuy, 19, will be a junior at Liberty University this fall. Her major is business management. She will perform a piano solo, Chopin's "Revolutionary Etude," Op. 10, No. 12.

Miss Apple Blossom Festival, Lisa Moorman:

A Hardy resident, Moorman, 25, graduated from Bridgewater College in 1986, where she majored in music. She will sing "There's a Winner in You."

Miss Augusta County, Tracy Lippard:

A Charlottesville resident, Lippard, 19, will be a sophomore at Piedmont Virginia Community College. Her major is international marketing. She will sing "Don't Cry Out Loud."

Miss Botetourt, Jillian Stephens

A Roanoke resident, Stephens, 18, will be a sophomore English major at Virginia Western Community College. She will sing "I Am Changing."

Miss Chesapeake, Pattyann Dabney:

A Chesapeake resident, Dabney, 19, will be a sophomore at Old Dominion University. Her major is elementary education. She will tap dance to "Jump Shout Boogie."

Miss Chesterfield County, Karen King

A Chesterfield resident, King, 19, will be a sophomore business major at Richard Bland College. She will dance to music from the opera "Esmeralda."

Miss Danville, Anne Norman:

A Martinsville resident, Norman, 20, will be a junior at Virginia Tech, where she is studying family and child development. She will perform a Spanish tap dance to "Malaguena."

Miss Halifax County, Charlotte Katherine Thorpe:

A South Boston resident, Thorpe, 18, will be a freshman at Danville Community College this fall and plans to major in business. She will sing "The Birth of the Blues."

Miss Hampton-Newport News, Erika Mummey:

A Newport News resident, Mummey, 20, will be a junior nursing major at Riverside Professional School of Nursing. She will sing "Let There Be Praise."

Miss Isle of Wight Festival, Stephanie Snead:

A Williamsburg resident, Snead, 22, is a 1990 graduate of the College of William and Mary, where she earned a degree in psychology. She will start work on her master's degree in psychology this fall and hopes to become a practicing school psychologist. She will perform a piano solo, Rachmaninoff's Prelude in C Sharp, Op. 3, No. 2.

Miss Lonesome Pine, Melissa Salyer:

A Coeburn resident, Salyer, 19, will be a sophomore at Virginia Intermont College. She is studying history and political science. She will sing "On My Own" from the Broadway show "Les Miserables."

Miss Longwood College, Amy Lynn Church:

A Springfield resident, Church, 21, will be a senior theatre major at Longwood College. She will perform a musical comedy routine to "Sam, You Made the Pants Too Long."

Miss Lynchburg, Sheri Huffman:

A Hampton resident, Huffman, 22, will be a senior at Christopher Newport College. Her major is marketing communications. She will sing "That's Life."

Miss Martinsville-Henry County, Teresa Ann Bennett:

A Collinsville resident, Bennett, 19, is studying nursing at Patrick Henry Community College. She will perform a gymnastics routine to "Jellicle Ball."

Miss Montgomery County, Virginia Vanessa Trost:

A Forest resident, Trost, 19, will be a junior chemical engineering major at Virginia Tech. She will perform a piano solo, Khatchaturian's Toccata.

Miss Nelson, Anne-Marie Woods:

A Charlottesville resident, Woods, 19, is a junior music major at Piedmont Virginia Community College. She will sing "Somewhere Over the Rainbow."

Miss Norfolk, Jennifer Lewis:

A Yorktown resident, Lewis, 19, will be a junior at Old Dominion University, where she majors in speech communication. She will perform a piano solo, Rachmaninoff's Prelude in G Minor, Op. 23, No. 5.

Miss Northern Virginia, Enya Flack:

A Washington, D.C., resident, Flack, 24, is a 1988 graduate of George Washington University, where she earned a degree in radio/TV communications. She would like to pursue a graduate degree in public relations. She will perform a harp solo, "Brise Nocturne."

Miss Peanut Festival, Beth Bruce:

A Richmond resident, Bruce, 24, will be a junior at Virginia Commonwealth University, where she majors in interior design. She will sing "Someone Like You."

Miss Pittsylvania County, Mary Harp:

A Dry Fork resident, Harp, 17, will be a freshman at Averett College. She plans to major in accounting. She will sing "Holding Out For a Hero."

Miss Portsmouth Seawall Festival, Jennifer Lewis:

A Forest resident, Lewis, 21, is a 1990 graduate of Liberty University, where she majored in psychology. She plans to pursue a graduate degree in counseling. She will sing "Think of Me."

Miss Richmond, Lisa Ann Harvey:

A Glen Allen resident, Harvey, 19, will be a junior mass communications major at Virginia Commonwealth University. She will sing "Leaving on Your Mind."

Miss Smith Mountain Lake, Melissa Harold:

A Bassett resident, Harold, 25, will be a senior at Averett College, where she is studying early childhood education. She will perform a character jazz dance to a medley of music by Glen Miller.

Miss Southside Virginia, Jackie Hite:

A Clarksville resident, Hite, 22, is a 1990 graduate of Mary Washington College, where she majored in geography. She will perform a piano solo, Rachmaninoff's "Polichinelle," Op. 3, No. 4.

Miss Spartan-Norfolk State University, Ty Morgan:

A Norfolk resident, Morgan, 20, will be a junior business major at Norfolk State University. She will perform a musical theatre routine to "Before the Parade Passes By."

Miss Tidewater, April Wilson:

A Norfolk resident, Wilson, 21, will be a senior at the University of Virginia, where she majors in rhetoric and communications. She will dance to music from the movie "Batman."

Miss Vinton Dogwood Festival, Paula Ketterer:

A Waynesboro resident, Ketterer, 24, is a 1989 graduate of the University of Virginia, where she earned a degree in art history. She plans to attend law school and pursue a career in law. She will sing "New York City Blues."

Miss Virginia Beach, Jillian Noel Johnson:

A Virginia Beach resident, Johnson, 20, has studied with the Tidewater Ballet for 15 years. She plans to continue her education in dance in college. Her goal is to open a Virginia performing arts center. She will dance to music from Bizet's "Carmen."

Miss Virginia Poultry Festival, Glenna Jeanine Gibson:

A Stephens City resident, Gibson, 20, is a 1990 graduate of Shenandoah College and Conservatory of Music, where she majored in psychology. She will sing a contemporary arrangement of "The Star-Spangled Banner."

Miss Williamsburg, Heather Hall:

A Bena resident, Hall, 20, will be a junior English major at the College of William and Mary. She will sing "Crazy."
