SOURCE LETS REPORTER REVEAL IDENTITY

A television reporter serving a six-month jail term for refusing to reveal the name of a confidential source has been freed by the source from his promise of confidentiality, a station official said.

Reporter Brian Karem was jailed June 27 after refusing to disclose the identity of a source who helped arrange his telephone interview last year with jailed murder suspect Henry Hernandez.

Hernandez is charged with fatally shooting police Officer Gary Williams in March 1989.
