Michael Wayne Webb, who lives in the Christiansburg area, was found about 10:45 p.m. by the occupants of the home on Yellow Sulphur Springs Road (Virginia 643), said Chief Deputy Milton Graham of the Montgomery County Sheriff's Department.
"The occupants heard someone cry for help," Graham said this morning. "They apparently were in bed at the time and when they went out to look they found Mr. Webb in their carport."
Graham said that by the time the rescue squad arrived, Webb already had died. He had been stabbed in the left side of his chest.
Webb's death is being ruled a homicide, Graham said.
Webb's body was scheduled to be taken to Roanoke where an autopsy would be performed, Graham said.
Graham said they could not release any information on any possible suspects.
