TESTIMONY DELINEATES SLAYING OF PROSTITUTES

Murder suspect Chander "Bobby" Matta told authorities he used a choke hold he learned at a Vermont military college to kill three prostitutes, an Arlington police detective testified.

During a preliminary hearing Monday, Detective Stephen R. Carter said that on the day Matta was arrested, he described to investigators how he killed three women police have identified as prostitutes.

The hearing concerned the death of Sherry K. Larman, 26. Carter said Matta, 21, picked up Larman May 25 in an area of Washington known for prostitution and drove her to his parents' home in southern Arlington County.

After having sex, Larman dressed in a bathroom, Carter said. Matta came up behind her, grabbed her around the neck with his right arm and punched her in the kidney with his left.

Larman fell to the floor and Matta tied a plastic bag around her head and suffocated her, Carter said. - Associated Press
