\ BEDFORD - Dewey B. Pugh, age 87, of Route 7, Bedford died Tuesday, July 10, 1990 at the home of his daughter. He was born in Floyd County, Va. on April 18, 1903, a son of the late Wiley M. Pugh and Sarah Dickerson Pugh. He was a retired employee of Hampton Looms of Virginia and a member of Hickory Grove United Methodist Church. He was preceded in death by his wife, Essie Vaughn Pugh. He is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Thelma W. and Woodrow (Tie) Snead of Richmond; two brothers, John W. Pugh and Theodore M. Pugh, both of Bedford; a sister, Mrs. Lawrence (Elvira) Snead of Bedford; a grandson, Jeffrey D. Wilson of Richmond; and three great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be conducted Thursday at 11:00 a.m. at the Carder-Tharp Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Ric Miller officiating. Burial will be in Virginia Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. Wednesday at the Carder-Tharp Funeral Home and other times at the home of Melvin and Catherine Overstreet on Route 4, Bedford.
