A small 3,500-year-old pottery hippopotamus has sold for $955,600 at Sotheby's in London, a record auction price for an Egyptian antiquity. The 4.25-inch-long hippo is glazed in turquoise and has lotus blossoms and a grasshopper painted on its back.
