\ Norman T. Pirkey of Roanoke, died July 10, 1990, in a local hospital. He was a retired employee of C & P Telephone Company and a member of Rosalind Hills Baptist Church. He is survived by his wife, Melba C. Pirkey; two daughters, Tracey E. Pirkey, Emily P. Johnston; three grandchildren, Stephanie E. Johnston, Benjamin T. Johnston, Christopher C. Johnston, all of Roanoke. Funeral services will be held at Oakey's South Chapel at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, with the Rev. Tom Stocks officiating. Interment will follow in Evergreen Burial Park. The family will receive friends at their home.
