\ George Stuart Via, Jr., age 66, of Roanoke, passed away Wednesday in a local hospital. He was a Naval veteran of World War II, a member of American Legion Post 3, and a member of the Roanoke Moose Lodge. Surviving are his mother, Mrs. George S. (Thelma) Via; a sister, Bettye Carolyn Via, both of Roanoke; five children, Cathy V. Nichols, Lynchburg; Marian V. King, Salem; Patricia V. Bush, Vinton; Randall W. Via, Chesapeake; and Sharon K. Via, Charlotte, N.C.; and five grandchildren. Funeral service will be conducted at 12:00 noon Friday from Oakey's Roanoke Chapel with Dr. Gregory L. Atkins officiating. Interment will follow in Evergreen Burial Park. Friends may call at Oakey's Roanoke Chapel where the family will receive friends from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. Thursday.
