\ Mrs. Ruth Lawson Shelor, age 93, of Roanoke, passed away in a local nursing home, Wednesday afternoon, July 11, 1990. She was the widow of Claude L. Shelor, Sr. and was predeceased by a son, J. Raymond Shelor and daughter Evelyn Shelor Wells. Surviving are three sons and daughters-in-law, Claude L., Jr. and Kathleen Shelor and Roy L. (Bill) Shelor, all of Salem; Neal E. and Betty Shelor, Bedford; Mrs. Raymond (Jessie) Shelor, McConnell, W.Va.; daughter, Mamie R. Shelor, Roanoke; son-in-law, Hoover Wells, Salem; sister-in-law, Mrs. Mertis Cooper, Eden, N.C.; brother-in-law, Harry O. Shelor, Williamsburg; eight grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be at Oakey's Roanoke Chapel, 3:00 p.m. Friday. Interment will be in Evergreen Burial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorials made be made to a favorite charity. The family will receive friends from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Thursday at Oakey's Roanoke Chapel.
