GRESTY, ARTHUR\
CHRISTIANSBURG - Arthur Gresty, age 65, died Tuesday, July 10, 1990, after a
long illness at Montgomery Regional Hospital. He was born to Albert and Mary
P. Gresty in Cheshire, England, April 30, 1925. He received a BS degree from
Kings College in Aberdeen, Scotland and also attended Oxford University. He
came to the United States in 1948. Mr. Gresty served with the R. A. F. as a
fighter pilot during the Battle of Britain and also in the Burma Conflict. He
was a dedicated engineer for Electro-Tec Corporation for thirty-eight years.
Surviving are his devoted wife of forty-three years, Evelyn Price Gresty;
three sons and daughters-in-law, David and Veida Gresty, Kensington, Md.;
Steven and Cynthia Gresty, Washington, D. C.; Robert and Mary Gresty,
Christiansburg; one daughter and son-in-law, Dianna and Alex Bowie, San Diego,
Calif.; three sisters and brothers-in-law, Vera and Roy Lovatt, Manchester,
England; Edna and Arnold Shepherd, Blackpool, England; Barbara and Charles
Price, South Wales, United Kingdom; seven grandchildren, Allison Gresty,
Virginia Beach; Hannah Gresty, Maryland; Paige Gresty, Washington, D. C.;
Sean, Ryan, Devin and Tessa Bowie, San Diego, Calif.; dozens of kinfolk in
England who mourn him. Funeral services will be Friday, July 13, 11:00 a.m. at
St. Thomas Episcopal Church with Father F. C. Tatem officiating. Interment
will follow in Sunset Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may
be made to the Parkinson's Disease Foundation. The family will receive friends
Thursday from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. at Hoy-McCoy Funeral Home in Blacksburg.
