EASTERN REVERSES FARE POLICY

Eastern Airlines reversed an earlier policy and said that introductory low fares in Roanoke will apply to one-way tickets as well as to round-trip prices. The special fares will be in effect after the airline resumes Roanoke service in September.

A one-way fare of $99 is offered from Roanoke to all Eastern destinations east of the Mississippi, including Boston, Buffalo and Philadelphia, as well as to Kansas City, Dallas and Houston, the Miami-based airline said. From Sept. 6 through the end of the month, Eastern said it also will offer introductory fares to the West Coast for $129 each way.

Tickets must be purchased by Aug. 15.
