CRIME LINE

A murder and burglary in Southwest Roanoke are the subject of this month's Crime Line.

On April 1, 1987, an intruder came through a bedroom window at 1830 Grandin Road S.W. The intruder stabbed to death an elderly woman and fled with a number of items.

Rewards of up to $1,000 are being offered for information that leads to arrest and indictment in connection with this and other crimes. Anyone with information may call 344-8500 and give the information anonymously. The caller is given a number that is used for identification and need not give a name.

In June, Crime Line rewarded a caller for information leading to the clearance of an arson and burglary at Nuel Wallace's Garage, 1035 McDowell Ave. N.E. This was the 36th case cleared by information to Crime Line, but only 11 callers have claimed the rewards.
