UVA MEN WILL PLAY IN ALASKA SHOOTOUT

The University of Virginia's 1990-91 men's basketball schedule, featuring 14 home dates and participation in the Great Alaska Shootout, was announced Thursday by Jim Copeland, the school's athletic director.

In addition to games against Virginia's seven Atlantic Coast Conference opponents, the schedule features home games against non-conference opponents New Orleans, Winthrop, Vanderbilt, Davidson, Radford, Fairfield and Towson State.

Virginia finished the 1989-90 season with a 20-12 record and advanced to the second round of the NCAA Southeast Regional.
