James Burton Beamer, age 51, passed away Thursday, July 12, 1990 at the Medical College, Richmond. He was born in Carroll County on November 9, 1938, a son of James Richard Beamer and Geneva Edwards. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Helen Burcham Beamer; one daughter, Mrs. Charlotte Shockley, Salem; two sons, Andrew Curtis Beamer and Avery Lee Beamer, both of Hillsville; two sisters, Mrs. Alma Hammond, Salem; Mrs. Vista Alderman, Hillsville; and one brother, Edwin Wilson, Wytheville. Funeral services will be on Sunday, July 15, 1990 at 3:00 p.m. at the Shiloh United Methodist Church with the Rev. Joe Taylor officiating. Interment will be in Woodlawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends Saturday evening from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. at the Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel, Hillsville.
