Charlene Lee Williams, age 32, died Thursday evening in a Roanoke hospital. She is the daughter the late Ed F. Mahaffey and Frances (Honey) King Mahaffey of Pembroke. A graduate of the 1975 class of Giles High School, she was a clerk at Hilltop Grocery and worked for many years as a beautician and licensed cosmotologist. She was a certified EMT with Giles County Rescue Squad. Other survivors include her daughter, Jessica Kathryn Carter of the home; one brother and sister-in-law, Duke and Diane Baker Mahaffey, Pembroke; a sister and brother-in-law, Shelby and Michael Norfleet of Salem, Va.; a sister Trevia M. Jennings, Pembroke; three nieces, Michelle Mahaffey and Sherri Jennings both of Pembroke; and Julie Norfleet, Salem; a nephew, Travis Norfleet, Salem. Funeral serives will be conducted Monday at 2:00 p.m. in the Mt. Lebanon United Methodist Church at Hoges Chapel with the Rev. Eddie Kendall officiating. Burial will be in Birchlawn Burial Park in Pearisburg. The family will receive friends at the Williams-Jamison-Kendall Funeral Home, Pembroke from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m. Sunday. The funeral home will be open for visitation anytime after 12:00 noon Sunday.
