Raymond Alton Hamblin, age 73, died Thursday, July 12, 1990, in the Wythe County Community Hospital. He was born in Bland County, a son of the late William Hoge and Ethel Bond Hamblin. He was a U. S. Army veteran of World War II and was retired from the Electro Plastics Corporation. He is survived by his wife, Grace Brunk Hamblin of Star Route, Dublin; three sons, Leon Alton Hamblin of Christiansburg; Billy Ray Hamblin of Star Route, Dublin; Ronald Wade Hamblin of Pulaski; one sister, Mrs. Arbie Chewning of Bland; one grandson, Shane Ronald Hamblin; three stepgrandsons, and one stepgranddaughter. Funeral services will be conducted Sunday, July 15, 1990, at 2:00 p.m. in the Newberry Funeral Chapel in Bland with Wayne Monroe and the Rev. Tim Williams officiating. Interment will follow in Goshen Cemetery on Little Creek. The family will receive friends at the funeral home in Bland from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m. Saturday. Newberry Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
