Pentecostal camp meeting

One of Western Virginia's oldest camp meetings,a Pentecostal Holiness gathering at Piedmont Campground near Shawsville, will be in progress July 20-29.

For this 80th anniversary series of services, the Rev. Bob Ely of Anadarko, Okla., will be preaching. Daily services will be at 11 a.m. and 7:30 p.m. The exception is Sunday when the second service will be at 7 p.m. Programs for children will start at 10 a.m. For directions, call 268-2163.

Archbishop to speak

Archbishop Yona Okoth, spiritual leader of Anglican churches in Uganda, will lead worship and preach Sunday at 8:30 and 11 a.m. at R.E. Lee Memorial Episcopal Church in Lexington.

The archbishop is the father of Alice Ogwal-Abang, who with her husband, Benjamin, lived in Lexington and Martinsville three years ago. Benjamin Ogwal, an exiled bishop in Uganda, now serves a church in Harrisburg, Pa.

Motorcycle ministry
