SPANGLER, MELVIN B., JR.

\ Melvin Basil Spangler Jr., age 42, of 3965 Grimes Street, died Saturday, July 14, in a local hospital. He was born November 22, 1947, in Clifton Forge, Va. He was a member of the Immanuel Baptist Church, Clifton Forge. He was the sales manager for Gala Industries. Survivors include his wife, Rebecca Barger Spangler, Roanoke; a daughter, Andrea Kaye Spangler, Roanoke; a daughter and son-in-law, Debra and Bobby Nicely, Germany; mother, Mrs. Margie Sloan Spangler Broughman, Route 1, Eagle Rock; a sister and brother-in-law, Robin and James Hall, Covington; grandmother, Mrs. Nellie M. Haynes, Clifton Forge; a grandson, Jeremy Nicely, Germany. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Monday, July 16, 1990, at the Nicely Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Phil Humphries and the Rev. Andy Nash officiating. Interment will follow in the Forest Grove Cemetery in Eagle Rock. The family requests that memorial contributions be made to the Roanoke Valley Christian School Scholarship Fund, 6520 Williamson Road, N.W., Roanoke, Va., 24019. The family will receive friends at Nicely Funeral Home in Clifton Forge from 3:00 to 5:00 p.m. Sunday, July 15, 1990, and any time at the residence. Nicely Funeral Home in Clifton Forge is in charge of the arrangements.
