\ BLACKSBURG - Paul Bernard Echols, age 79, died Saturday, July 14, 1990, at Montgomery Regional Hospital. Mr. Echols was a retired supervisor in the Water Department at R.A.A.P. He was preceded in death by a son, Mitchell Lee Echols. Surviving are his wife, Mamie Dillon Echols; one daughter and son-in-law, Arlene E. and Fred Skurupey; two sons and daughter-in-law, Shirley B. and Ruth Echols, Gale H. Echols, all of Blacksburg; two sisters, Virginia King, Charleston, W.Va.; Alzada Morris, Salem; seven grandchildren; three stepgrandchildren. Funeral services will be Tuesday, July 17, at 2:00 p.m. at Blacksburg First Wesleyan Church with the Rev. Raymond Powers, the Rev. Claude Dove, and the Rev. Vince Guerra officiating. Interment will follow in Westview Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Blacksburg First Wesleyan Church, 1406 Giles Road, Blacksburg, Va., 24060, or Blacksburg Rescue Squad, 200 Progress St., N.E., Blacksburg, Va., 24060. A Masonic service will be conducted Monday at 6:45 p.m. at Hoy-McCoy Funeral Home by Hunter's Masonic Lodge No. 156 A.F. and A.M. following which the family will receive friends until 9:00 p.m.
