MAN WHO CALLS HIMSELF GOVENOR IS SELDOM HOME

WHAT EVER happened to the man Virginia elected governor? Is he a figment of our imagination?

There does seem to be some guy there in Richmond who calls himself governor, but he is seldom home. He flits from place to place acting more like a candidate for higher office. Once in a while he seems to remember that he has a full-time job.

If what I read is correct, he has a wealthy, recently separated lady friend who lives somewhere down near Charlottesville. Apparently he has beaten a path to her door and is doing some serious courting. Whether he is in love, in heat, or in need of her millions to finance his presidential campaign is at this time undetermined.

I guess it would be hard for a simple girl to say no when the governor of Virginia takes time out from his busy schedule flying all over the world campaigning for higher office and comes courting in that big ole helicopter. He does cut a wide swath.

I wish them the best. I just hope that Virginia can survive a part-time governor, part-time suitor and full-time presidential candidate on its payroll.

Excuse me, the phone is ringing.

I just talked to Bubba down in Richmond. Heard something that has changed my mind. Seems like the governor was spending more time on the job than I thought. He has negotiated a low-interest loan with her ex that will balance our state budget. Way to go, governor!
