\ In Charleston, W.Va., the State Bar's Committee on Legal Ethics on Monday filed a petition seeking to disbar former Gov. Arch A. Moore Jr. because of his conviction on political-corruption charges. Moore pleaded guilty May 8 to felony charges of extortion, tax fraud, mail fraud and obstruction of justice. A federal judge refused Moore's request to withdraw his guilty plea and sentenced him July 10 to five years, 10 months in federal prison and fined him $170,000.
