EXPLORE SEEKS PATH OF LEAST RESISTANCE

EXPLORE has failed in its attempt to pawn itself off as the champion of historic authenticity. In the face of a formidable challenge by the preservation community, Explore has once again changed its chameleon-like color.

In a move to find the path of least resistance, Explore officials have now taken up the guantlet of the environmental movement: "Explore plans environmental center" (July 4). Environmentalists will no doubt raise an eyebrow at the sincerity of such a ploy.

Meanwhile, Explore's two-year pillage of this valley's historic resources and plans for the so-called Blue Ridge Town remain incomplete or unaccounted-for.

What's next? What other scams does Ewert have up his sleeve to sell his flawed vision of this thing called Explore?
