\ Mrs. Martha Kate Kirkwood, age 95, of Roanoke, died Monday in a local nursing home. She was the widow of Robert Earl Kirkwood, and was the daughter of the late Henry Clay Harrison and Martha Lou Duffy Harrison. Mrs. Kirkwood was preceded in death by two sons, Earl W. Kirkwood and Robert J. Kirkwood. She was a member of the Ladies' Auxiliary of United Transportation Union. Surviving are her daughters, Mrs. Dale R. (Ruth) Kersey, Bluefield; Miss Helen E. Kirkwood, Roanoke; 10 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren. Services will be held at Oakey's South Chapel at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, the Rev. Robert M. Hamner will officiate. Graveside services will be at 3:00 p.m. Thursday in Monte Vista Cemetery, Bluefield, W.Va., the Rev. Allen A. Hammond will officiate. Friends may call at Oakey's South Chapel from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. Wednesday.
