ARBORETUM CLUB TOURS SMITHFIELD GARDENS

For the July meeting of the Arboretum Garden Club of Blacksburg, members toured the gardens at Smithfield Plantation.

Christine Meunch and Mary Jane Jodie, master gardeners, conducted the tour. Members were given a printout of the gardens that included the names of the plants.

A Dutch-treat luncheon at Anchy's followed the tour.

Mrs. F.E. Willard, chairwoman of judges, announced winners of the annual Mrs. A.G. Smith Horticulture Awards. Mrs. W.P. Judkins placed first; Mrs. J.C. Hassall placed second.

Mrs. Robert Prittle, 405 Algonquin Court, will be hostess for the August meeting.
