MACFARLANE TO SPEAK AT VFW DEDICATION

State Sen. Granger Macfarlane will be the speaker at the dedication of the new post home of the Howard J. McDowell Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1264 on Thursday at 7:30 p.m.

The post building on Melrose Avenue was previously occupied by Ridge Runner Pizza and Fiesta Cantina. The building has been renovated to serve as a meeting facility for post members and ladies auxiliary, as well as club and recreational facilities for members.

The post was established in Roanoke on June 13, 1934, and serves 507 members.
