Thomas Jessie Rutledge, age 61, died Wednesday, July 18, 1990, at Montgomery Regional Hospital. He was a veteran of World War II and the Korean Conflict. During this time, he performed distinguished services as a military pilot. Surviving are his wife, Olivia Price Rutledge; one daughter, Tammy Rutledge, Christiansburg; three sons, Houston Rutledge and Christopher Lee Rutledge, both of Christiansburg; Thomas J. Rutledge, Jr., Richmond; two stepdaughters, Polly Albert, Blacksburg; Debbie Graveley, Christiansburg; one stepson, Randy Ratcliff, Blacksburg; five stepgrandchildren; his parents, Houston Thomas and Ella Smith Rutledge, Christiansburg. He was preceded in death by a son, Joe Martin Rutledge. Funeral services will be Friday, July 20, 11:00 a.m. at Christiansburg Presbyterian Church. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Christiansburg Rescue Squad, P. O. Box 176, Christiansburg, Va. 24073-0176. The family will receive friends Thursday from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. at Hoy-McCoy Funeral Home in Blacksburg.
