FIRST TRIP TO ZOO WAS DISAPPOINTING

HAVING JUST moved here from Virginia Beach, one of the first things we had planned for our three children was a trip to Mill Mountain Zoo. Like Bessie Cherry (letter June 23), we too were disappointed.

To charge admission to see animals smaller than the family pet is pathetic. The train was broken (we weren't forewarned). We ended up with three sad kids and two angry, poorer parents. KATE HENCHEY ROANOKE
