OBIT VARNEY, F.

Frank Moody Varney, Jr., age 69, of Salem, died Wednesday in a Salem hospital. He was formerly of the Richfield Retirement Center. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Mary Ellen Andreason. He is survived by two sons, David Varney, Richmond; Michael Tanner, Amelia; one daughter, Mrs. Susie Saunders, Hopewell; son-in-law, Pete Andreason, Indio, Calif.; three brothers, Eugene E. Varney, Phoenix, Ariz.; Jeryl C. Varney, E. Ray Varney, both of Roanoke; one sister, Mrs. William (Helen) Bullington, Salem; several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held Saturday, July 21, 10:00 a.m. at the Lotz Salem Chapel with Dr. Gordon W. Grimes officiating. Interment will be in Sherwood Memorial Park.
