OBIT BENSON, H.

BENSON, HENRY P./ Henry Preston Benson, age 76, of Roanoke, died Thursday, July 19, 1990. He was a World War II veteran, a retired employee of the Engineer Department of the VA Medical Center, Salem, and was a recipient of the Purple Heart. He is survived by his wife, Mary Delcie Webley Benson; three brothers, Dickie Benson, Bernard Benson, both of Lyndhurst; and Jesse Benson, Long Island, N.Y.; seven sisters, Clara Howdyshell, Bonnie Runion, Ruby Riddle, Hazel Clatterbaugh, all of Staunton; Ruth Lotts, Waynesboro; Lucille Forcum, San Antonio, Texas; Belle Clark, Wilmington, Del.; and Nell Ellinger, Lyndhurst. Funeral services will be conducted from Oakey's North Chapel 12:00 noon Saturday, July 21, with the Rev. Wesley Patterson officiating. Burial will be in Sherwood Memorial Park. Friends may call Oakey's North Chapel after 12:00 noon Friday.
