`NINJA TURTLE' SEQUEL PLANNED

A sequel to the hit movie "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles" is to come out of its shell next year to lure kids on spring break, a distribution company said.

New Line Cinema Corp. said Tuesday it received North American distribution rights for the sequel to handle releases for theaters, television and the home video market.

The sequel, starring the same pizza-loving, crime-fighting turtles as the original, has an estimated budget of more than $20 million and a tentative release date of March 15, 1991.

The first film, released last March, has grossed $129 million, making it the highest-grossing independent film in movie history.
