SOVRAN FINANCIAL CORP. RAISES STOCK DIVIDEND

Sovran Financial Corp. increased its common-stock dividend by 7 percent to 48 cents a quarter, or $1.92 per share on an annual basis. The Norfolk-based banking company's new dividend will be paid Oct. 1 to shareholders of record Aug. 28.
