OPTICIAN PURCHASES LENS-MAKING MACHINE

Jim Wray has become the first Franklin County optician with his own lens-crafting equipment.

Wray said the $35,000 machine will enable his office to make plastic lenses - even bifocals - without sending them to an outside laboratory. Most lenses will be available the next day, Wray said.

Jim Wray Optician Inc. is located on Virginia 40 West in Rocky Mount.
