OBIT DUNN, E.

Emily Ruth Dunn, age 96, of Bland, died Friday, July 20, 1990, in the Wythe County Community Hospital following a long illness. She was a retired school teacher having taught in Kentucky, Virginia and West Virginia for many years. Born in Bland County, the daughter of the late David Washington and Cynthia Stowers Dunn. She was the last survivor of ten children. She was a life-long member and Sunday School teacher of St. Matthews Lutheran Church, Bland, a former member of the Bland Eastern Star Chapter #41 and the West Virginia Teachers Association. She is survived by seventeen nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Sunday in the St. Matthews Lutheran Church with the Rev. Karl U. Dunn, nephew of the deceased, officiating. Interment will follow in the Bland Community Cemetery. Friends may call at the Newberry Funeral Home, Bland, from 7:00 to 8:00 p.m. Saturday. Newberry Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
