BUSH URGES CAUTION ON WEAPONS CUTBACKS

President Bush said Friday he could accept the Senate Armed Services Committee's $18 billion reduction in the defense budget he proposed for fiscal 1991.

But Bush, speaking at the nation's MX missile arsenal, cautioned Congress not to hold "some kind of fire sale" of military hardware to accommodate friendlier superpower relations and budget constraints.
