PRINCIPAL NAMED TO EXPLORE BOARD

Gov. Douglas Wilder has appointed Oak Grove Elementary Principal Margaret Moles to the state board that governs the proposed Explore living-history state park.

Wilder also reappointed three members whose terms were expiring: Salem developer T.A. Carter, retired Roanoke College President Norman Fintel and Roanoke builder Jack Loeb.

Moles replaces Richmond financier James Wheat. Wheat had been appointed to the board last year by Gov. Gerald Baliles, but his nomination was among hundreds the General Assembly inadvertently failed to confirm before the deadline.
