COBBS ANNIVERSARY

Glenn and Sarah Cobbs of New River have celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary. They were married July 20, 1940.

Mr. Cobbs, a native of New River, retired as a truck driver from Radford Army Ammunition Plant. He has been the pastor of First Baptist Church in Dublin for 17 years and First Baptist Church in Chilhowie for 11 years.

Mrs. Cobbs, the former Sarah Naomi Hendricks of New River, was employed in the greenlines division of Radford Army Ammunition Plant. She has been a missionary and member of the church choir.

The couple have seven children, two of whom are deceased, two adopted children, 20 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
