Robert "Bob" Holt Burton, age 67, of 1826 Mount Vernon Road, S. W., died Friday, July 20, in Roanoke Memorial Rehabilitation Center. He retired after twenty five years service as a certified kitchen designer for Valley Lumber Company, was an active volunteer for the Red Cross, annual volunteer host at Cave Mountain Lake Campgrounds and was a forty three year member of Our Lady of Nazareth Catholic Church. Surviving are his wife, Virginia "Ginny" Ewald Burton; sons and daughter-in-law, Ron and Pat Burton, Salem; Chris Burton, Roanoke; daughter, Judy Burton, Wickford, R.I.; grandsons, Bill Burton, Robert Burton and Rusty Howell; sisters-in-law, Mrs. T. B. Burton, Virginia Beach; Mrs. John A. Lester, Miss Kathleen Ewald, both of Wytheville. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to the Leukemia Society, 2728 Colonial Ave., S. W., Roanoke, Va. 24015. A prayer service will be conducted 7:00 p.m. Sunday at Oakey's Roanoke Chapel. Funeral Mass will be 10:00 a.m. Monday at Our Lady of Nazareth Catholic Church with the Rev. Kenneth Stofft officiating. Interment will follow in St. Andrews Cemetery. Friends may call at Oakey's Roanoke.
