Stephen Bain Reed, age 20, of 229 Hillcrest Dr., Collinsville, died Saturday morning at Memorial Hospital, Martinsville-Henry County. He was born in Martinsville, September 6, 1969, and was the son of Jan Curtis Reed and Norma Pendleton Reed. He was an employee of Roses Store at Commonwealth Blvd. Stephen was a 1987 graduate of Fieldale-Collinsville High School and a rising senior at Radford University. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church. He formerly played on the little league and currently played on the church softball team. He is survived by his mother and father, Norma Pendleton Reed and Jan Curtis Reed; brother, David Gregory Reed of the home; maternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Fred Walker of Collinsville; paternal grandmother, Mrs. Charles E. (Doris) Jane) Reed of Collinsville. Funeral services will be held Monday, 2:00 p.m. at First United Methodist Church with the Rev. William Gardner and the Rev. Ferd Wagner officiating. Interment will be in Roselawn Burial Park. The family will receive friends at McKee Funeral Home 7:00 to 8:30 p.m. and other times at the home, 229 Hillcrest Dr., Collinsville.
