OBIT VICKERS, S.

Shirley Davis Vickers, age 61, of Roanoke, died Friday. She was a graduate of R.M.H. School of Practical Nursing and was retired from Roanoke Memorial Hospital with twenty-one years service in I.C.U. and C.C.U. She was preceded in death by her father, Charles R. Davis, Sr., and her brother, Douglas S. Davis. Surviving are her husband, William Harold Vickers, Jr.; children, Gladys V. Whitlock and husband, Fred, Jr.; Shirley McNeely and husband, Pat; Theresa Smith and husband, David; mother, Gladys H. Davis of Pulaski; grandchildren, Teresa Price and husband, James; Diana Lewis and husband, David; Robert Carter and wife, Gina; Tracey Whitlock, Sherry Carter, David Harrell Smith and Connie Smith; great-grandchildren, Allicia Lewis, Brian Keith Price, Brittany Lewis; brothers and sister, Charles R. Davis, Jr. and wife, Jeane; Buford F. Davis and wife, Burton; Doris A. Carter and husband, Blake, all of Pulaski; Cecil Larry Davis and wife, Karen of Roanoke. Funeral services will be at Oakey's South Chapel at 1:00 p.m. Monday. Interment will follow in Sherwood Memorial Park. Friends may call at Oakey's South Chapel from 2:00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. Sunday.
