MANKIND'S GREATEST SIN IS PRIDE

IN HIS July 1 commentary, Sam Garrison concludes that his being homosexual is (1) ordained by God; (2) a God-given right; (3) harmless to society; (4) unchangeable; (5) a productive life truly worth living. God is never the author of sin, and in fact destroyed thousands of people because of the sin of sodomy.

Scores of verses in God's word show the sinfulness of homosexuality and the results of this lifestyle (Romans 1:22-29; I Corinthians 6:9-10, etc.). Garrison's mature Unitarian "faith" will not allow him to believe this, but in the end neither his or my opinions will mean a thing, only God's!

Pride is mankind's single most blatant sin, and is what caused his original fall as well as that of Satan. Man's greatest problem is thinking too highly of himself, not too lowly. It's sad to think that our leading newspaper would print such an article, which gives validity to a lifestyle that has caused so much grief among mankind for the past 6,000 years! ED BERRY CALLAWAY
