CAR RADIOS' NOISE MERITS PROSECUTION

IN HIS July 7 letter concerning loud car radios, Harry Curd Jr. expressed very well the sentiments people feel. It is not appropriate to be subjected to noise so loud that the vibrations can be felt within your body (even through the walls of a building).

I do not see why this offensive, sometimes hazardous behavior could not be dealt with as disturbance of the peace. If not, I want ordinances to be passed by municipalities so that offenders can be prosecuted. I enjoy music very much, but something must be done so that all people can choose when they would like to hear it, and when to have peace and quiet! THOMAS I. DeBUSK III MARTINSVILLE
