SHANK, JOHN B.\
John Bernard Shank, age 73, of Roanoke, died Sunday, July 22, 1990. He was
a member of Grace United Methodist Church. He was a retired civil engineer for
the U.S. Department of Transportation with 30 years service and was an Army
veteran of World War II. He is survived by his wife, Louise McNeil Shank; two
sons and one daughter-in-law, Jack Lee Shank, Luray; Michael W. and Deborah
Shank, Roanoke; one daughter and son-in-law, Anita S. and C. Randall Talley,
Roanoke; mother, Mrs. Hazel J. Shank, Shawsville; three brothers, Ralph D.
Shank, Marmet, W.Va.; Paul J. Shank, Prince George; Donald Shank, Salem; one
sister, Julia S. Skinner, Tullahoma, Tenn.; five grandchildren. Funeral
services will be conducted from Oakey's North Chapel at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday,
July 24, with the Rev. Nolan R. Crowder and the Rev. Larry Eenigenburg
officiating. Burial will be in Piedmont Cemetery, Montgomery County. Friends
may call at Oakey's North Chapel where the family will receive friends from
2:00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. Monday.
