7-YEAR-OLD HURT IN FALL FROM THIRD FLOOR

A 7-year-old boy was in stable condition at Roanoke Memorial Hospital Monday night after falling about 25 feet from a third-floor apartment window in Southwest Roanoke.

The boy lives in the 300 block of Highland Avenue Southwest with his parents, who were home at the time. He apparently was playing or sitting on the window ledge and lost his balance, neighbors and paramedics said.

He suffered a broken leg and was being X-rayed for possible back or neck injuries. He was conscious when taken to the hospital.
