PARKS, ARCHIE B.\
Archie Blaynard Parks, age 81, of Melrose Towers, passed away Monday, July 23
at a local hospital after a lengthy illness. He was an usher and member of
Forest Park Baptist Church and a retired barber from Crossroads Mall. He is
survived by his wife, Irene W. Parks; one son and daughter-in-law, David and
Nancy Parks, La Mesa, Calif.; two daughters and sons-in-law, Mary Ann and Dean
Martin, Richmond, Va.; Kay and Grover James, Roanoke; six grandchildren; one
great-grandson; one brother, Raymond J. Parks, Bristol, Tenn.; three sisters,
Mrs. Leola Fleenor, Chattanooga, Tenn.; Mrs. Cleta Mae Stroud, Maxton, N.C.;
Mrs. Christelle Groceclose, Winston Salem, N.C. Funeral services will be held
at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at Oakey's Roanoke Chapel with the Rev. Frank W.
Feather and Dr. Paul S. Kennedy officiating. Interment will be in Cedar Lawn
Cemetery. Friends may call at Oakey's Roanoke Chapel.
